Setelah tahun lalu mewakliki Jawa Barat, Tahun ini pun SMK Negeri 5 Pangalengan masih mampu mewakili jawa barat di Lomba Kreatifitas Siswa SMK tahun 2018 bidang Livestock. Tahun lalu Perwakilan SMK Negeri 5 Pangalengan yang diwakili oleh Ananda Rian Hidayat hanya mampu mencapai juara Harapan 2 [juara ke 5] dengan penelitian yang berjudul Penelitian THE EFFECT OF COFFEE’S SKIN POWDER TO BROILER PERFORMANCE AND RATION EFFECIENCY (An Experiment on Raising Strain Cobb Broiler at Poultry Production Division of SMK Negeri 5 Pangalengan Bandung ).
Tahun Ini perwakilan SMK Negeri 5 Pangalengan, Ananda Aldi Rizaldi dengan bimbingan dari Ir. Triana Yulian dan Eka Rahmat S.Pt berhasil mencapai tingkat yang lebih tinggi dari tahun sebelumnya, yaitu Juara 2 tingkat Nasional untuk LKS bidang Livestock. Penelitian yang berjudul THE EFFECT OF APPLYING TEA BY PRODUCT ON BROILER’S PERFORMANCE AND RATION EFFICIENCY bertujuan untuk melihat efek yang didapat dari Kebul Teh, yang merupakan limbah dari pengolahan teh, ketika ditambahkan pada pakan ternak ayam broiler. Apakah memberikan efek positif?
Dari penelitian yang dilakukan menghasilkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut:
Body Weight Average : 1,283 gr Body Weight Gain : 1,394 gr FCR : 1,34 Feed Eficiency : Rp 6.060.-
